Buxton are back in league action on Easter Friday as they welcome Chorkey to the TSS with a 3pm kickoff.
The Bucks
The Bucks go into this game after losing in the Derbyshire Senior Challenge Cup final on penalties to Alfreton.
Johnny Johnston and Keziah Martin saw there penalty kicks saved with Alfreton 4-3 winners.
Following the loss manager John McGrath said:
"That was not a great game of football. Chances were at a premium. They came into it more in the second half and pushed us. But it was a tough way to miss out, on penalties. It's a lottery and we lost.
"Next, a massive Good Friday game against Chorley, hopefully with us back to winning ways against a really strong outfit."
Opposition
They play their games at Victory Park which has a capacity of 4300 with 975 of them seated.
Their nickname is The Magpies.
They were founded in 1875 as a Rugby Union club and made the change to football in 1883.
Former Buxton manager Jamie Vermiglio is the chairman of the club.
Their manager is Andy Preece who was sent off in the last game between the sides.
They have reached the FA Cup fourth round in the 2020-21 season after beating Derby County.
In the 1995-96 season they reached the semi finals of the FA Trophy.
They won the playoffs in this league in 2019.
Chorley finished 4th in the league last season and lost in the playoffs to Brackley.
In the league they are 5th after picking up 73 points in 43 games.
The Magpies are on a five game unbeaten run but have drawn their last two games 0-0.
One to watch
Mark Ellis is the clubs top goalscorer this season scoring 11 goals from centre back.
The 36 year old started his career at Bolton and was at a number of Football League. Clubs before joining Chorley in 2023.
Whilst at Crewe he won the EFL trophy and at Shrewsbury he was part of a side that finished runners up in League Two.
Last Time Out
It was a 3-0 loss when the sides met in February after Chorley scored three goals from set pieces.
Last time at the TSS it was a 3-1 win for Buxton with goals from Diego De Girolamo, Max Hunt and Luke Shiels scoring with Scott Wilson scoring a late goal to get one back for the visitors.
