PREVIEW: Buxton travel to Curzon Ashton

Up Next

The Bucks are on the road as they face Curzon Ashton on 3rd February 2024.

The Bucks

The Bucks go into this game following the 0-0 draw to Brackley Town last week.

Following the draw manger Craig Elliott said:

“It was not a classic game by any means but Brackley are an outstanding team and we did well. Above all, we showed that we cared.

"We did the basics well and had the best chance of the game, in the dying minutes. That didn't go in, but we earned the point and it's a pointer in the right direction. Now we need to kick on. There's a week off from competition now and we'll prepare well for the trip to Curzon as part of our need to build consistency."

In this game Zaine Francis-Angol broke his leg and has therefore been ruled out for the rest of the season.

The Bucks have made a signing in Adam Livingstone from Hereford. Adam is a left back who has also played further forward. He began his career in Scotland at Motherwell and joined The Bulls in the summer after playing for Telford United last season.

Opposition

Their manager is Craig Mahon who also is a player.

The club finished 13th  in the league last season and are nicknamed The Nash.

They play their games at the Tameside stadium which has a capacity of 3000 and was opened by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2005.

They sit 7th in the league on 47 points from 29 games.

One to Watch

Jimmy Spencer has scored 4 goals in his last 5 games and joined from Farsley Celtic in February last year.

The 6ft1 forward has had a host of English football league clubs that he has played for.

Last time out

A Sam Smart goal was cancelled out by Matthews when the sides met earlier on in the season.

A Hancock double was the difference away from home last year as The Bucks lost narrowly 2-1 with Boden getting the goal for Buxton.
