PREVIEW: Spireites look for first win against unbeaten Bromley


Chesterfield travel to Hayes Lane to face third place Bromley in search of their first win of the season.


Neil Smith’s side are unbeaten this campaign and scored a last minute equaliser on Wednesday night to maintain their impressive record this term.

 

The Opposition


The Ravens have made a bright start to their 2019-20 National League Campaign, winning five games and drawing the other four.


Neil Smith managed to get some impressive transfer business done in the Summer, with Maidenhead United top scorer Adrian Clifton and Ebbsfleet’s Michael Cheek joining the London club.

 

One to watch


Recco Hackett-Fairchild- The young striker started his career in the youth sides at Fulham and Brighton and Hove Albion before moving to his local club Dagenham and Redbridge.


The 21-year-old signed for Charlton Athletic in 2016 and had loan spells in the National League at Boreham Wood and Bromley before going on to sign a permanent contract for the Ravens.


This season Hackett-Fairchild has found the back of the net five times and scored an injury time equaliser at Dagenham and Redbridge on Wednesday night.

 

Previous Meetings


The two sides met twice last season but neither team could come out on top.


Zavon Hines scored a last minute penalty to rescue a point for the Spireites in the home fixture and Joe Rowley’s injury time strike down at Hayes Lane tied the scores at 3-3.

 

Team News


Tom Denton who is recovering from injury will not be featured due to the synthetic pitch at Hayes Lane.


Experienced left-back David Buchanan is also unable to make the side and looks to be out for up to six weeks. Norwich loanee Anthony Spyrou will also be unavailable for selection due to tonsillitis.

 

Sheridan’s Thoughts


Sheridan said: “We just have to keep fighting and believing. It’s difficult at the moment but I’ve got to believe I can turn it around.”


Sheridan said he is is confident that there is enough in the squad to turn the corner and said that they will have to stay switched on to get that first win.
