Chesterfield brought an end to Bromley’s four game winning run by claiming a 2-1 victory at Hayes Lane thanks to goals from Jack Clarke and George Carline.
Martin Smith came into the starting eleven to replace Curtis Weston who missed out due to a sore achilles.
Chesterfield started the game very much on the front foot with Danny Rowe having the first chance of the evening three minutes in. His curling strike from the left flew over the crossbar.
Town nearly took the lead in the 13th minute when Carline’s long ball across goal found the unmarked Joel Taylor whose volley cannoned off the bar.
Bromley’s first real chance came just before the break when Jack Bridge made a terrific run and let fly on the edge of the area however he couldn’t keep his shot down.
Chesterfield started the second half like they did the first and had a good chance to break the deadlock when Carline’s shot was cleared by just infront of the line.
They did take the lead in the 51st minute when Clarke pounced on a Chris Bush error and smashed the ball into the far corner.
However the hosts levelled when Grant Smith kicked the ball straight into the path of Jude Arthurs who lobbed the keeper from range to score his first senior goal.
Less than 10 minutes later Town restored their lead after Taylor’s perfect ball from the left found Carline in space. The fullback struck the ball into the far corner to put his side back in the lead.
The Ravens came close to levelling in added time through Frankie Raymond whose powerful effort forced Smith into a diving save to his left.
