Staveley Miners Welfare welcomed Garforth Town to Inkersall Road as they recorded their first win in their last three games.
Ben Townsend was named as the Trojans third goalkeeper this season as he made his second debut with Myles Wright ruled out injured.
Brad Jones returned at right-back with Gary Mundy returning from suspension to replace Mark Dudley and Sam Finlaw respectively as Brett Marshall made three changes from the side that lost 3-1 against Silsden.
Garforth started the game quite brightly with a high defensive line and long-range efforts in abundance, but it was Staveley who got the opening goal.
Jon Froggatt found himself in space on the left-hand side and on his favoured left foot, somehow, managed to get the ball across the goalkeeper and into the bottom corner.
Three minutes later, Staveley doubled their lead. Rob Worrall hit a free-kick from 20-yards out over the wall and into the goal with Toby Welli glued to the spot.
Before the break, Staveley had the chance to extend their lead with Froggatt capitalising on a mistake in Garforth's defence, but Welli rushed out to deny Froggatt his second of the game.
Just before the half-hour mark, lovely build-up play from Staveley saw Worrall turn provider as his ball across the face of goal was converted by Matty Parkin to extend the Trojans lead.
No changes at the half for either side and top goalscorer Michael Burke's solo effort straight from the kick-off was dragged just wide of the goal.
The majority of the second-half saw Staveley in the ascendancy with chances falling to Burke, Parkin and Robson Doolan.
It was Garforth who got the first goal of the second-half when substitute, Shaun Mundy, was judged to have tripped Sam Barker to give the visitors a penalty. Jack Lazenby stood up against Townsend and sent him the wrong way, bringing a change to pressure the visitors were applying.
That goal gave Garforth a spell in control and with little under 20 minutes remaining, you wouldn't have been out of place to believe a comeback could be on the cards.
With five minutes left, the scores could have been 3-3, Alex Low hitting the cross bar from seven yards out before Lee Turner dragged his effort wide from three yards out.
The referee's full-time whistle was met with relief from the crowd at Inkersall Road who will be pleased to have seen there side return to winning ways.
This win takes the Trojans to five points clear at the top of the league over second placed Liversedge, who Staveley still have to play twice.
